The Canadian Society of Neuroradiology is once again offering a series of accredited webinars covering a wide variety of Diagnostic Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology topics. This series runs throughout the year, on a Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 PM Eastern time. Emails will be sent to the membership and pre-registration is required in advance of each session.

TOPIC: Peds- Neonatal Encephalopathy: Clinical Aspects, Treatment, Imaging and Outcomes

Featured Speaker #1 - Linh Ly, Neonatologist, SickKids

Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of neonatal encephalopathy, including hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) and criteria for therapeutic hypothermia.
  • Review short and long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes in neonates with HIE through case studies.

Objectives:

  • Understanding the technique and imaging patterns of hypoxic ischemic injury on MRI.
  • How to distinguish HII from other causes of neonatal encephalopathy, with a short review of differential diagnosis.
