Mentorship Program | CNS
The Canadian Neurological Society announced a new Mentorship Program in 2022. This program aims to bolster professional development of trainees of all levels & early career neurologists by connecting them with experienced neurologists with similar career goals & interests.
Mentors may be community or academic neurologists, who are full CNSF members practicing in Canada. Eligible mentees include medical students, residents, fellows, and early career neurologists (preferably within the first 5 years of independent practice).
- A commitment of two years for both the mentor and the mentee is expected. We anticipate that virtual meetings will be the primary form of communication for mentors and mentees. However, one of these meetings should ideally occur in person at the CNSF Annual Congress.
- The mentee will be provided with their assigned mentor’s e-mail address and will be expected to send the initial contact e-mail. In this e-mail, it is recommended that the mentee have objectives for the mentorship partnership to share with their mentor.
- Matches are typically made when the Call for Interest is sent out to facilitate the best possible matches.
Skillful mentorship is an immensely fulfilling experience and it has enduring beneficial effects for both the mentee and mentor. If you are interested in becoming a mentee or a mentor, consider completing the application for enrollment (google docs links below).
