Mentorship Program | CACN

The Canadian Association of Child Neurology (CACN) Resident Representatives run a Mentorship Program for our “Junior” members. This program began in 2017 and has made many effective and beneficial matches over the years, and continues today.

The program aims to establish connections between pediatric neurology trainees and staff neurologists from all across Canada, with similar interests within the field of pediatric neurology.

  • A commitment of two years on the part of both the mentor and the mentee is expected. It is also recommended that mentors and mentees meet or contact one another approximately three to four times per year. Ideally, one of these meetings would occur in person at CNSF’s Annual Congress.
  • The mentee will be provided with their assigned mentor’s e-mail address and will be expected to send the initial contact e-mail. In this e-mail, it is recommended that the mentee have objectives for the mentorship partnership to share with their mentor
  • Matches are typically made in early fall when the current CACN Resident Representatives send out a Call for Interest with a survey link to facilitate the best possible matches.
